Welcome to the World Brooklyn Ann

After what seemed to be the longest pregnancy in the universe it finally happened at 8:29pm on November 11th 2011, our 3rd dear wee daughter Brooklyn came into our lives weighing a very healthy 11lbs. She is beautiful. Many thanks must go to my midwife Biddy Sheehan (who also delivered my 2nd daughter at home), kept me on track to have the home birth I wanted. As I am sure you can imagine when you are 41 weeks +6 days you are well over being pregnant you just want to have the baby, so ‘Thank You Biddy’ for not giving into my constant requests to be induced you are brilliant.

My oldest daughter Ashley (8 years old) was at the birth of Brooklyn as I went into labour at her bedtime and she said wouldn’t sleep anyway can I please stay up I didn’t have the energy to get into  discussion with her so we let her. She couldn’t get the smile off her face she was so overjoyed by the whole experience and if it wasn’t for my best friend Jeanette being there to explain to her what was going on I don’t know how she would have coped so Jeanette thank you.

To my husband you are wonderful, I love you. x

My whole experiences with home births has been nothing but wonderful and would highly recommend them. However, they are obviously not for everyone. I know for me at least the experience is something I will never forget, calm, no bright lights, or strangers, just people I wanted there and I was in my own home and in my own bed within hours of having her.

Again welcome to the world Brooklyn xxxx
